J. Jay McVicker

McVicker's works have been exhibited in 140 national and regional art competitions during the last five years and his paintings and prints have been honored by 26 awards since 1948. He has had his work shown in museums and galleries throughout the United States and recently in international exhibitions in Paris and Rome. The Library of Congress owns seven of his prints and others are included in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City, Philbrook Art Center, Tulsa, and the Dallas Art Museum. An article on McVicker's art appeared in the 1953 Flair annual issue which described the "luminous color and originality of his style." McVicker received BA and MA degrees at A&M and has taught drawing and painting in the school of architecture and art since 1941.
